Translating Tove Ditlevsen @ The Poetry Center, Smith College

In cooperation with the Five College Faculty Literary Translation Seminar, I will be giving a talk about the surprising events around translating works by Tove Ditlevsen, including Dependency from The Copenhagen Trilogy, her short stories, her poetry and a novel. I will share the many elements of coincidence, fate and craft that come into play when an author gains worldwide recognition.
