At this workshop for all kinds of writers, we will explore the act of translating meaning into words; what is close reading; and we will do some writing exercises using translation and constriction.
I will be reading Danish poetry translations at Jones Library as part of the World Poetry event of the Amherst Poetry Festival.
At this excellent and cosy bookstore I will be presenting my two latest books translated from Danish: Farming Dreams (poetry) and Stories about Tacit (Novel). There will be time for discussion and snacks and drinks.
I will reading an excerpt from my new novel translated from Danish, Stories about Tacit. This is a group reading with ten different authors that are members of Straw Dogs Writers Guild. A great chance to meet many superb local writers at one event.
I will have a table at this festival, the largest of its kind in the mid-Atlantic states. Come by to talk, and look at books!
At this national conference of literary translators, I will be giving two short readings of excerpts from my new translated books, Farming Dreams and Stories about Tacit.
Knud Sørensen and I will perform a bi-lingual reading followed by a lecture about translation at Krabbesholm Højskole in Skive, Denmark.
